Campus Tour + Phi Slam

Today I went on a campus tour. I have never been on a campus tour before I my only reference was the campus tour from the movie Road Trip. Apparently part of that campus tour was actually shot at UGA so the tour was pretty close to what I imagined it to be.

I've been recommended to check out this party tonight. This video from the last one of these parties and they are hosted by the fraternity Phi Sigma Lambda, known as Phi Slam. The party is located pretty far from my hotel but I'm trying to find out the best way to get over there.

A first day well spent

So today was my first day in Athens. I meet up with Anthony Prasetio from the Sigma Beta Rho fraternity. He is the president of the Multicultural Greek Council, one of UGA's four greek councils. I had an awesome time and Anthony showed me around campus and introduced me to a couple of Greek Advisors. The University of Georgia Campus is huge and they have Campus Transit system that you are pretty much required to use to get around. I got a look at most of the major buildings and UGA's preeminent Greek Row.

Arriving in Athens, GA

After a seemingly endless journey I am now arrived in Athens, Georgia. It feels great even though I'm a little tired after the trip. This morning a took a walk downtown to try to orient myself in the area and get a overview of the city. Above are some pictures from my hotel and from my first walk around town.

Take off!

Tomorrow it all kicks off. I've got a 10h flight and a transfer in Frankfurt ahead of me but I'm still very excited. If everything goes according to plan I will be in Athens by 8 p.m, ready to check in at the Foundry Park Inn. Hopefully I'll be able to take a look around town a bit before I go to bed. See you soon America.
